Host The Metalworks, Birmingham

Maintenance.

Sited in the popular student area of Birmingham Selly Oak and a stone throw from Birmingham university, The Metalworks is a 3 block building of various levels that house over 400 students in over 130 apartments and studios.

CFS have been maintaining systems on our site since 2014 and have been there on occasions when we have had major issues with system failures, floods or power cuts.

We have noticed a change in the service and delivery over the years that is helping us to ensure we can stay compliant and have a company who can offer current advice when required

Arrow XL Distribution/Warehouse Hub, Worcester

Supply, installation and Commissioning works.

After a major fire in 2017 which destroyed the 200,000 sq ft distribution facility, a newly built from scratch flagship hub was constructed. Standing 14 metres tall, twice the height of the previous building, totalling 260,000 sq ft we were asked to supply, install and commission the Fire Alarm, Public Address, Intruder Alarm, Access Control, Refuge & CCTV systems.

This project was completed in the specified time period with over 2000+ man hours, our installations consisted of a Morley Fire system with 3 panels, A Grosvenor Sateon 21 door Access Control system, A Bosch P/A system, Galaxy security system with 96 zones, 77 Hikivision cameras across a fibre network and 10 Honeywell FAAST system panels with 20 air sampling pipes.

A huge and rewarding installation this was another project we are very proud to have been a part of as being local to the site we knew all about the company and the building history. We are delighted to have been a part of its future.

Sainsbury's Talbot Gateway, Blackpool

Design and installation works.

The flagship of all the Sainsbury's stores, this project was one that rivaled all the previous stores for its unique way it was built and shared with others, a very demanding build management that seen the main contractor installing a fire alarm system that needed to be integrated with the standard Sainsbury's specification for fire alarm and PA/VA systems.

In addition to this, the car park systems were also integrated with a CFS.Services HSSD system protecting the striking glazed frontage, as normal smoke detection methods would not work at this height.

With over 1500 man hours, and 12000m of FP rated cable this is a site we are proud to have been a part of.

Lidl Distribution Centre, Runcorn

Design and installation works.

This project started towards the end of 2015 and was completed in early 2017. CFS took control of the Smoke Vents, Mantrap alarm & Fire alarm system throughout the site refurbishment that also included a complete remodel of the 3 story office block. Within the main warehouse we rewired it and reconfigured the high level beam detection, new HSSD pipework and panels in the chillers and secure cages.

Our unique designed mantrap alarm for the -0 chillers brought all the remote panels together for a warning call station at the dispatch office, a life saver for workers trapped in a -24 freezer.

This site used in the region of 14000m FP200 fire cable across 3 fire alarm panels, 2000m HSSD pipework and close to 2500 man hours to get this project completed within the time frame.

Lidl, Distribution Centre, Bridgend

Design and installation works.

This was our 1st Lidl project, the task being to remove all the high level fire alarm equipment and containment while the roof was removed and replaced due to leaks.

The task for us was to use a purpose designed bracketry system for the containment without the use of the roof purlins and solely using the steels and ensuring the routes all pass the beam detectors for final connections.

We achieved this with the help of our network of suppliers providing solutions that fitted perfectly to the clients requirements and ensuring the cost stayed within the project budget.

EON CHP Power Station, Farringdon

Design and installation works.

Behind these walls is a power station housing 2 CHP engines that are managed with monitoring equipment, across 9 floors included are 3 below ground floors that help to house the necessary complexed network of pipes and cables to deliver the heating, water, electricity and refrigerating to the famous landmark that is Smithfield traders market.

We were handed the complete fire alarm system as a pre designed package that we deemed was not fit for purpose and was not in line with any British standards or recommendations of BS5839. This project offered several difficult areas such as the underground vaults, 38m water silo and a 30x30m room with a ceiling of pipework preventing standard smoke detection. With the design of several HSSD systems we manage to cover all risks in all areas providing peace of mind that the system will detect and smoke in the areas. 3 networked fire alarm panels and numerous HSSD panels, a full graphic package, speeding up exact location of devices causing an alarm or areas that needed to be isolated for hot works.
